Saints and Sinners Lap Race, Springwood
The Saints and Sinners Lap Race is run from the grounds of St Columba’s College in Springwood on a 5 km loop that starts and finishes in the school courtyard surrounded by sandstone buildings. The course uses hilly fire trails, winding single track, a bridge and a pond loop, with an overall elevation gain of about 110 m per lap. All routes are marked and marshals are stationed at key points.
Participants choose a 3 hour or 6 hour entry and compete as a solo runner, a pair, or a team of three or four. Each lap is timed and the aim is to complete as many 5 km laps as possible within the chosen time frame. Event entries are limited to 350 competitors.
Aid stations are located at about 2 km, 3.5 km and at the race hub (5 km). They provide water, fruit, electrolyte drinks, lollies, chips and cola, and carry basic supplies such as emergency pads and tampons, hand sanitiser and rubbish and recycling bins. There will be no cups at on-course aid stations; runners must carry their own cup or flask. Carrying at least 500 ml of water from the start is mandatory and required for an official result.
The school grounds provide parking and toilets at the race hub. Headphones are not permitted on course; walking poles are allowed but should not impede other runners. Runners aged 11 and up may participate when entered in a 3 hour team with restrictions on consecutive laps. Refunds are available minus a $10 processing fee up to one week before the event, and transfers or entry changes are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
