Course, aid and logistics

The loop comprises about 75% single-track (dirt, roots, rock, wooden bridges), 20% forest road, and 5% crushed gravel along the dam. Each lap accumulates roughly 500 ft of elevation gain and loss. Trail markings will be present, and the route may include mud or wet sections depending on conditions. The trail remains open to the public during the event; mountain bikers, walkers, leashed pets, and horseback riders may be encountered.

Main facilities are at the park entrance on Camp Cosoma Road, with a staffed main aid station, toilet facilities, parking, and a small race shelter. A second aid station is located near the Salem Forest parking lot on Indian Bridge Road; drop bags may be placed there but that station may not be staffed continuously. Day-use entrance charges apply at the automated gate: $3 per vehicle for Maryland residents, with an additional $2 for out-of-state vehicles. Refunds are not issued for this event.
