Course and logistics

The course uses an approximately 10.5 mile loop around the lake perimeter and into Salem Forest. Races consist of 1, 2, or 3 laps of that loop. The trail system around Saint Marys Lake includes a 7.5 mile main route plus about 8 miles of additional trails. Surface composition is roughly 75% single track (dirt, roots, rock, wooden bridges), 20% forest road, and 5% crushed gravel along the dam. Each lap has about 500 ft of cumulative elevation gain and descent. A GPX route file is available from the organizers. The public may use the trails during the event; mountain bikers, walkers, leashed pets, and horseback riders can appear on the route.

Aid stations, parking and rules

The main aid station is at the park entrance on Camp Cosoma Road and will be staffed with warm food and drinks. A second aid station will be near the Salem Forest parking lot on Indian Bridge Road and may close later in the day; it may not be staffed continuously. Pancakes will be served at the finish. Day-use entry at the automated gate requires a credit card payment; passholders may arrange park entry through the park office. Parking is available; carpooling is requested and parking on grass or along the road is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
