Sabino Canyon Sunset Run

The Sabino Canyon Sunset Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026. The event is held in Sabino Canyon, which is located in the Coronado National Forest near Tucson.

The event offers two distances:

  • 7.4 Mile
  • 2 Mile Fun Run & Walk

Registration prices are $50 for the 7.4 mile event and $30 for the 2 mile event. The event has a policy of no refunds, substitutions, replacements, or wait lists. It is described as often selling out quickly due to a restricted number of registrants per distance.

For the 7.4 Mile event, there is a pace requirement. Runners must maintain a pace faster than 19 minutes per mile. There are specific cut-off times at the turnaround point and an aid station; runners not meeting these times will be removed from the course for safety and volunteer logistics.

Participants in both events receive a race shirt. Finishers of the 7.4 mile event receive a finisher medal. Awards for the 7.4 mile event are given to the top three overall, top masters, and top three in five-year age groups up to 80+, and include gift certificates. All participants can enjoy pizza, snacks, and music at the finish line.

Discounts are available for Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR) members, Native Americans, and active duty or retired military personnel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
