The Running For Restoration 5k is scheduled for April 4, 2026 at McGalliard Falls Park, 1400 Falls Road NW, Valdese, NC 28690. The event is organized as an advocacy run to raise awareness for the humane treatment of incarcerated people in North Carolina.

The course begins with a slope and several large rock stairs, crosses a suspension bridge at about 0.5 miles, then follows the Valdese greenway on an easy gravel path. The route is an out and back along the greenway.

Registration pricing is tiered: $35 early bird through March 1, $40 regular through April 3, and $45 on the day of the event. Shirt orders require a March 23 deadline and sizes are offered from XS to XXXLarge. Packet pickup is available day of the event only at McGalliard Falls Park.

Awards include 1st place overall for male and female finishers. Age-group awards for male and female are given for 1st through 3rd places in these groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 and over.
