Tewinbury Trail 5K & 10K

Tewinbury Trail 5K & 10K is a trail running event based at Tewinbury, a countryside hotel, restaurant and event venue near Welwyn in Hertfordshire. The event base is the Tewinbury Event Field and the routes run entirely on trails around the hotel grounds.

  • 5K (100 m elevation)
  • 10K (180 m elevation)

Both routes are undulating and use a mixture of terrain, including single track forest paths, open dirt tracks, grass and woodland trails. Navigation is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals are positioned at key turning points. A water and nutrition station is provided at approximately 5.3 km on the 10K route; cups are supplied.

The event is limited to 400 runners. Entry fees listed are £18 or £16 for affiliated runners for the 5K, and £22 or £20 for affiliated runners for the 10K. Minimum ages are 12 for the 5K and 16 for the 10K. Dogs are not permitted. The race is held under UKA rules with a Trail Running Association permit to be confirmed.

Race services include chip timing with live results, a finisher souvenir, medical support, onsite car parking, bag drop and on-route photos. Age category awards and top three male and female awards are presented. Welwyn North station is about a 15 minute walk from the venue and fixed toilet facilities are available on site.
