Run the Woods

Run the Woods is a community running event held at the Timber Pointe Outdoor Center in Hudson, Illinois. The event features multiple distances and categories to accommodate various age groups and physical activities, all centered around the wooded environment of the outdoor center.

Participants can choose from several event options:

  • 8 km run (available for both youth and adults)
  • 5 km run (available for both youth and adults)
  • 1 mile trail walk (untimed)

The event serves as a fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting Easterseals Central Illinois and the Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. These organizations provide opportunities for children of all abilities to attend and participate in camp activities.

For the 5 km and 8 km distances, awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the first-place male and female runners in several age categories receive recognition. Age groups include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
