Run the Ranch

Run the Ranch is a two day trail running event held at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, Colorado in April 2026. The races take place on private ranch trails with varied terrain and scenic views. Multiple distances and timed formats are offered over the Friday and Saturday program.

Available distances and formats include:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 4 hour timed trail race
  • 6 hour timed trail race

  • 12 hour relay, 4 person

  • Virtual 4 hour 6 hour and 12 hour options

Logistics noted by the organizer: a ranch access fee applies per person per day; parking is available at the ranch; registration is handled online and there is very limited cell service on site. Runners receive a meal ticket; additional meal tickets are available. Camping is allowed in tents, cars, trucks or vans; RVs and trailers are not permitted; camping options include general and premium areas with separate fees.

Event provisions include a single aid station at the start and finish offering water, fuel products and finish line food. The event aims to be cupless so participants are asked to bring a water bottle or reservoir. Race rules specify no pacers, no headphones or earbuds, and no course access without a bib. Relay teams must complete full laps; a hot lap opens one hour before a race ends to allow a final partial lap.

Awards include finisher awards and top finishers prizes for each event, with gift cards and custom awards for several races. Tie breakers for timed events use the fastest final full lap. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
