Event Overview
Run the Ranch is a trail running event held in April at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, Colorado. The event offers various distances and formats over two days.
Available Events
Participants can choose from several events:
- 10k and 5k races.
- Timed trail runs lasting 4 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours (solo).
- 12-hour relay races for teams of 2 or 4 people.
- Virtual options for the 5K/10K and the 4-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour events.
Course and Venue
The courses take place on trails on private land at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch. The event notes varied terrain. A ranch access fee of $5 per person, per day, applies to all attendees. Cups are not provided at the aid station, so participants must bring their own water bottle.
Rules and Logistics
Pacers are not permitted on the course, and only individuals with a race bib are allowed. The use of headphones or earbuds is prohibited. For the relay events, each team member must complete one full lap. A "hot lap" option opens one hour before the course closes, allowing runners to complete a partial lap. The course closes at 7 PM each day.
Amenities and Awards
All runners receive a meal ticket with their entry; extra tickets can be purchased. The 12-hour solo participants receive an extra meal ticket. Finish line food includes burgers. An aid station at the start/finish provides water, VFuel, and, for Saturday participants, items like ramen, cookies, and soda.
Finisher awards are given to all participants in the 5K, 10K, 4-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour events. Additional awards, including gift cards from local businesses, are presented to the top three male and female finishers (and top three masters) in the 5K and 10K, and to the top three male and female finishers in the 4-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour solo events. The top three teams in each relay category also receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
