Course, logistics and awards

The course uses rooty and dirt single-track trails with natural terrain and elevation; the stated elevation is about 205 ft gain per 6-mile loop. The event does not provide disposable cups, so participants should bring their own water-carrying system. There is a 5-hour cutoff for the event. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the race.

A ruck division is offered; ruck participants must carry a minimum of 20 lb and may use a ruck sack or vest. Event gear and awards include a soft tee (order by March 1 to guarantee size), a wooden Run The Pines finisher medal, ruck patch for qualifying ruckers, first-place awards for each distance by gender, a $200 cash prize for first place in the longest distance, and a DFL award for the 30K.
