Course and logistics

The course uses diverse single-track trails through dense East Texas pine forest, with trees described as about 100 feet tall. Trails include rolling hills, rooty sections, snaking tree roots, and dense pine-needle coverage. The park contains a 64-acre spring-fed lake near the course. The start and finish are located at the Blackjack Group Pavilion. Courses are marked with in-ground flagging and directional signage. The race lists a course difficulty of 4 - moderate to strenuous with some technical terrain.

Aid stations are described as well stocked and include basic first aid supplies, electrolytes and a variety of snacks; the drink sponsor listed is Crazy Water. Several aid station locations are noted, including the start/finish area, Old Road Trail, Group 3 Picnic Area trailhead, and Rock Dam Area. The event is cupless and encourages reusable bottles for refills. Camping is available at Tyler State Park and the race names the East Texas Trail Advocacy group as its beneficiary.
