Mandatory and recommended equipment is specified. A headlamp is required for all distances. Participants must carry a water system with a 16 ounce minimum capacity because the event is a no cup race. Ruck rules for the 13K Ruck require a weight of 20 pounds for runners weighing 150 pounds or less, and 30 pounds for those weighing 150 pounds or more; a ruck sack or vest is allowed.

Aid support includes a main aid station at the start/finish, two named water stations, and several aid stops offering hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice. No drop bags will be shipped due to the loop size. There is a nine hour cutoff for all events. Participants must purchase a state park day pass.
