The courses use natural dirt and forest trails with rooty single-track sections. Elevation is described as about 50 ft gain per 4-mile loop. The course is marked and supported, and event photography is provided. Ruck entries are allowed with a minimum weight requirement of 20 lb; ruck sacks or vests are permitted.

Completing all four races combines the finished medals so they fit in a Run The Pines Series Plaque.
