Run the Mounds is a trail running and walking event held at Mounds State Park in Anderson, Indiana. The main events are timed runs and walks on park trails.

Student pricing is available for the 5-mile run, 5K run, and 5K walk events for participants aged 19 and under.
Course and Terrain
The course is primarily trail, with the 5-mile and 5K routes being 92% trail and 8% paved blacktop. The routes start on grass before entering the trail system. The trails contain natural features like ruts, rocks, stumps, roots, and leaves. Conditions may include mud, water hazards, or slippery surfaces depending on the weather.
Two water stops are located on the course. The event starts and finishes near the Woodland Shelter within the park.
Event Details
Packet pick-up for pre-registered participants is available on the day of the event. Parking at the park is limited, and participants must use designated parking areas. Restrooms are available at several locations, including near the Woodland Shelter.
All participants receive a finisher medal. The top three overall male and female finishers in the 5-mile run, 5K run, and 5K walk receive an additional special medal or plaque. Post-race refreshments, including chili, bananas, cookies, brownies, chips, Gatorade, and bottled water, are served at the main pavilion.
The event benefits the Anderson Road Runners Club activities, their free children's running series, and Mounds State Park. Pre-registration is required, as there is no day-of registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
