The Indy Runners Charity XC Challenge takes place on 9/7/2026 at the Brebeuf High School XC Course, 2801 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268. This is the event's ninth year; in the first eight years the event distributed nearly $24,000 to a range of charities. The event returned to Brebeuf Jesuit High School after a year hosted at North Central High School.
The format centers on a 5K cross-country race with team-based charity support. Participants may join an existing Anchor Charity team or create a new team; team names are expected to identify the supported charity. Half of each team’s entry fees go directly to the named charity. Race results are scored using Age Graded Percent to compare finishers across age and gender for awarding the remaining funds.
Registration details include an open registration period beginning on May 1 and a pre-registration closing in late August to allow bib preparation. On-site registration is available on race morning. Standard in-person team entry fee is $30; a virtual support option accepts donations only, which are added to the distribution pool and allocated to charities based on team finishing place.
Anchor Charities named for this year include Back on My Feet, Joseph Maley Foundation, Girls on the Run, and Outrun the Sun, the latter noted as a permanent anchor supporting melanoma research in recognition of a deceased friend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
