Sister Cities of Greenfield 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk

The event offers two distances along the Pennsy Trail in Greenfield: a 5K and a 1 Mile run/walk. Both races start and finish at Sister Cities Park on Pennsy Trail, adjacent to the Greenfield Police Department. The course is a westbound down-and-back along the trail that returns to Sister Cities Park.

Parking is available on local streets near Sister Cities Park, just south of 116 S. State Street, and there is a free city parking lot at the corner of S. Pennsylvania and E. South Street. For GPS, the address given is 111 S Pennsylvania Street.

Early packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, August 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Sister Cities Pagoda; if it rains, pickup will take place at the Greenfield Fire Station, 17 W. South Street. The event will occur rain or shine; in the event of lightning the start may be delayed. Organizers reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances; if canceled for that reason, entry fees will be retained as a donation to Sister Cities of Greenfield and a time will be set to collect shirts.

The race supports Sister Cities of Greenfield, an organization that for over 35 years has facilitated exchanges and visits between Greenfield and its sister city, Kakuda, Japan. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
