Run Stubborn 25k and 50k
The Run Stubborn 25k and 50k takes place at Carver's Creek State Park in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This trail event utilizes a 16 mile loop that includes both established park trails and specific sections of the park that are otherwise closed to the public. The course passes several lakes and ponds, featuring technical but runnable trail terrain with no out-and-back sections or two-way traffic.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 25 km
- 50 km
The 50 km event consists of two laps of the loop. There is a total time limit of nine hours for all participants to complete their chosen distance. For those in the 50 km category, a cutoff time is enforced for beginning the second lap; runners must start their second loop by 12:15 PM. Participants in the 25 km distance may use the full nine-hour window to complete the course and are permitted to wear a ruck.
The event is open to runners aged 14 to 99. The course features two unmanned aid stations per lap, located approximately at mile 5 and mile 11. These stations provide water and light snacks, while a full aid station with hydration and fuel is located at the start and finish line. Packet pickup is conducted on-site on the morning of the event. All entrants receive a race shirt, and those who finish their distance receive a medal.
Parking is available for free at the start and finish area. Bathrooms are located at the start, though no facilities are provided along the course. Participation with dogs is restricted to pre-approved Canicross runners who meet specific mileage and registration requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
