The Deerfly Trail Race takes place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Carvers Creek State Park - Sandhills Access in Fayetteville, NC. The event is presented by the Fayetteville Running Club, a 501(c)(3) organization, and the sole sponsor is Heckler Brewing Company. The race is limited to 200 participants and is chip timed. Dogs start about ten minutes after the runners.

Entry fees listed on the event page include $41 for the 11K and 6K and $17 for the dog events. Packet pickup is the day before the race, Friday, October 17. Participants who register by October 3, 2025 will receive a race shirt in their registered size; later registrants may choose from remaining sizes. Pint glasses are distributed at packet pickup and finishers receive the year 5 challenge coin.
Course and access
Both distances run through the Sandhills portion of Carvers Creek State Park, with running through longleaf pine forest. The race notes possible sightings of marked red-cockaded woodpecker trees and fox squirrels. Onsite parking is available; entrants should use the Ramsey Street side park entrance.
