Run Ridge Run takes place in Port Moody, BC on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

  • 25 KM A kids' race of about 1 km is also held; it is not timed, is non-competitive, and registration for the kids' race is free. Registration opens Dec 6, 2025. The start and finish are at Sasamat Lake.

Course and logistics

Both distances include sustained climbs, descents and technical trail sections. The 13 km course follows the Buntzen Ridge Trail around Sasamat Lake and provides views of Buntzen Lake. The 25 km course continues onto the Diez Vistas Ridge, follows the Lakeview Trail, skirts Buntzen Lake, then returns to Sasamat Lake. Ascent/descent figures listed for the courses are 13 km: 600 / 2000 and 25 km: 1000 / 3200.

There is one water station and one aid station per distance; the water station is at 6 km for both races and the aid stations are at approximately KM 8.5 (13 km) and KM 18 (25 km). The long course has a single cutoff at the aid station near KM 18 set at 4.5 hours into the run. Poles are not allowed. The event is cup-free; runners must carry their own cup. A tented bag drop is available at the start/finish but it is not monitored and items should be labelled. Package pickup is offered at Runners' Den (Port Moody) and at the race start. Entry fees listed are CDN$80 for 13 km and CDN$90 for 25 km; each entry includes a $5 donation to Coquitlam Search & Rescue, one tree planted in a regional reforestation program, post-race food and massage, and professional chip timing.
