Run Ridge Run takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in Port Moody, BC. The event offers two trail distances:

  • 13 KM
  • 25 KM

Registration for 2026 opens on December 5, 2025. Package pickup is available Friday 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Runners’ Den (Port Moody) and on race morning at the start. ID is required to pick up race packages and bibs must be collected by the registered runner. The start and finish are at Sasamat Lake. Poles are not allowed in any distance. The race is cup-free; participants must carry their own cup for fluids. A bag check tent is provided at the start/finish, but it is not monitored.

Course and race support

The 13 km course follows the Buntzen Ridge Trail around Sasamat Lake and passes near Buntzen Lake. The 25 km course continues onto the Diez Vistas Ridge, follows the Lakeview Trail, passes Buntzen Lake, and returns to Sasamat Lake. Course maps and elevation profiles are available, and GPX files for both routes can be downloaded from the event page. Each distance has one water station six kilometres in, where the courses split, and one aid station (KM 8.5 for the 13 km and KM 18 for the 25 km). The long course has a single cutoff at the aid station.

Entries include a $5 donation to Coquitlam Search & Rescue, one tree planted per entry, branded items, post-race soup and sushi, post-race massage, and professional chip timing.

Kids race

A non-competitive Kids Race of about 1 km is offered. It is untimed, free to register, and typically attracts children aged 3-10. Parents may donate to Butterfly Support Network during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
