Run Four the Pines
Run Four the Pines is an annual cross-country style trail run and walk held at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve in Lincoln, Nebraska. The event uses grass, dirt, and mulch trails across the preserve and serves as a fundraiser to support Prairie Pines trails and their connection to the Lincoln trail system. Dogs are allowed on this event day only within the wildlife habitat, and participants may run or walk with leashed dogs.

Registration is required for all runners and walkers. Fees vary by registration period and include special pricing for high school cross country runners. Youth 1 mile is for ages 12 and under; an adult may accompany a child free of charge. Race day packet pick-up is available before the event; no bibs or timing chips are used.
Dogs must be on a standard lead leash 6 feet or less; retractable or bungee-type leashes are not allowed. Owners must pick up dog scat; unsocial or aggressive dogs will be asked to leave. Runners line up first, followed by joggers and walkers, then runners with dogs.
Awards include category prizes for the 4 mile and 1 mile events and a Paws Award offering a $100 gift certificate for the fastest dog and human duo, plus a gift certificate drawing for other dog participants. Volunteers assist on course. Complimentary bagels and refreshments are provided and additional food and beverages are available for purchase. Parking is provided at Prairie Pines.
