4th Annual YMCA Run For The Hills : Crown Point

Run For The Hills is a 2K and 5K running event held on a closed course that loops through the hilly 144-acre Camp Triangle Hills property of Crossroads YMCA in Crown Point, IN. The event is part of Crossroads YMCA's Fall Fest and offers onsite family activities after the races, including rock climbing, a high ropes course, archery, tractor rides, a petting zoo, fishing, and pumpkin launching. Parking is on site.

The 5K uses computerized on-the-bib timing to produce official results. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category. Divisions are provided for overall, masters (40 and over), and standard age groups; additional Athena and Clydesdale divisions are available with weight thresholds and are not eligible for Overall, Masters, or Age Group awards.

Entry fees are published for each distance with youth pricing for 10 and under and adult pricing for 11 and up; prices increase after September 10 and shirts are not guaranteed for registrations submitted after that date. Refunds are not issued; proceeds support the YMCA Income-Based Scholarship. Run For The Hills is included in the Triple Crown Challenge along with the Hub Run and the Brickyard Run. A daylong, in-person endurance event where runners complete a marathon by running 1.09 miles every hour and resting on site between efforts, with camping allowed and a finisher medal awarded.

Oakadoke Trail Runs in Valparaiso, IN features single track trails with varied terrain and pond views. Three distances are offered, aid stations are spaced along the route, and a post race meal is provided; the event is cupless.

A free alumni 2 Mile cross country meet on 08/15/2026 in Chicago Heights that uses chip timing and decade-based teams and head-start groups, with team scoring based on finishing place.

A 10-hour endurance run at Bluhm County Park in Westville, IN, on an about 4 mile trail loop. Runners must complete each loop within the hour, earn chips for prize tables, and receive a limited edition t-shirt and wooden medal.
