Run for Freedom - ULTIMATE Challenger Race

This event takes place on the trails at Freedom Hills Ministries. Participants run one 5K every hour for twelve hours, with official chip timing. Organizers provide snacks, drinks, and shelter during the event. Each registered runner receives a race packet that includes an official Run For Freedom shirt and a Run for Freedom belt buckle. A meal of mashed potatoes and chicken is served after the final 5K.

Distances:

  • 5K each hour
  • 12 repeats, total distance rounded to 37 miles

The event includes stage prizes and awards for top finishers. Specific stage prizes are designated for select hourly 5Ks: the 4th hour awards the top female finisher; the 6th hour awards top male and female finishers over 40 years old; the 9th hour awards the top male finisher; the 12th hour awards overall best combined time to the top three male and top three female finishers. There is a $500 gift card for the runner with the highest sponsorship.

Sponsorship guidelines ask for a minimum of $15.00 per mile, with the total sponsorship target based on the rounded 37 miles. If a runner fails to finish any hourly 5K within its hour, that runner is timed out and will no longer be officially timed; the runner may continue to run and any stage prizes earned before timing out will be honored.
