Run for Amma

Run for Amma is a charity trail running event held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve in Los Gatos, California. The event marks its 15th anniversary and is held annually to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. One hundred percent of registration proceeds will be donated to a UCSF cancer research lab.

The event offers multiple distances with listed elevation gain and time limits:

  • 50K: 5,266 feet elevation gain, 8 hour time limit.
  • 30K: 3,629 feet elevation gain, 8 hour time limit.
  • 10K: 980 feet elevation gain, walk or run.

Bib pickup for the 50K and 30K is available on race day. Participants can park at the finish area in the Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve equestrian lot.

Volunteer support comes from local running clubs including the Stevens Creek Striders and Quicksilver running club. Volunteers help mark the course, staff aid stations, sweep the course and provide shuttles.

A multi-distance trail event at Calero County Park in San Jose on May 30, 2026, featuring single track, dirt paths and hilly terrain up to 50K, with aid stations, free parking and drop bag support for the 50K.

A trail event at Almaden-Quicksilver County Park on June 7, 2025 offering distances from 5K to 50K, steep climbs, marked courses, aid stations, and toilet facilities. The 52 mile race is not held in 2025 and is planned to return in 2026.

Annual 5K and 10K fun run and walk each June at Hunting Hollow in Henry W. Coe State Park. The relatively flat dirt course runs through a wildflower-lined valley with oak trees and occasional wildlife, with proceeds supporting park projects..

Multiple trail distances from 5K to 50K on very hilly single track and dirt roads at Rancho Cañada del Oro. The course features scenic foothill views, two aid stations, enforced cutoffs, and finishers receive a medal.
