Event Overview

The James & George Collie 15 Mile Trail Race is a trail running event held on the Balmoral Estate. The race takes place in April.

Route Description

The point-to-point course starts with a view of Balmoral Castle. Runners head west adjacent to the River Dee before a gradual climb through the Ballochbuie pine forest. At the 8-mile point, the route leaves the river and climbs approximately 120 meters to the base of Lochnagar. The final 3 miles are a descent back towards the castle. The terrain is mostly Land Rover track, with the last mile potentially muddy. The route goes into exposed countryside. Distance markers are placed at every mile.
