Run Across CT 123

Run Across CT 123 is a point-to-point ultramarathon that starts in East Thompson and finishes at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport. The published route covers about 123.2 miles and passes through 25 towns, moving from forested trail sections to backroads and coastal terrain.

The course combines trail and road running: roughly 57 miles travel on well-maintained trails with occasional stream crossings and varied footing, while the remaining mileage follows scenic backroads and local highways. Total elevation change is moderate, with about 3,842 ft of ascent and 4,455 ft of descent.

Event formats listed include:

  • Solo 200K
  • Solo 100K
  • 6-person 200K relay
  • 3-person 200K relay

The event uses a 36-hour cutoff and enforces five intermediate cutoffs plus a final cutoff to support runner and volunteer safety. Aid stations staffed by volunteers supply hydrating drinks, electrolytes, and light snacks; medical staff are available for common ultramarathon issues. Finishers of the 200K receive a belt buckle; finishers of the 100K and relay options receive a medal. All finishers receive a 2025 CT123 t-shirt and additional swag.

There are no shuttle services this year; participants should arrange their own transport to the start or use crew drop-off or park-and-ride options. Volunteer shifts range from 1.5 to 3 hours and include race swag and food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
