Run Across CT 123 is a point-to-point ultramarathon on April 4, 2026. The route starts in East Thompson and finishes at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport, crossing 25 towns and covering approximately 123 miles. Available race formats include:

Course and logistics

About 57 miles of the course run on well-maintained trails; the remainder follows backroads and local highways. Total reported ascent is about 3,842 ft and total descent about 4,455 ft. There are no shuttle services this year; arrival options mentioned include crew drop-off or parking at nearby park-and-rides. Nearby lodging is noted in Thompson and Greenwich. Participants are advised to plan for variable spring weather and carry layered, packable rain gear.

Support and cutoffs

The event uses a 32-hour overall time limit and multiple intermediate cutoffs. Five intermediate cutoffs occur at approximately mile 32.5, 55.8, 63.8, 75.9, and 100.07. The final cutoff is at approximately mile 123.2. Aid stations are staffed by volunteers and provide hydrating drinks, electrolyte options, and light snacks. Medical staff are available on course. The published target pace to meet cutoffs is about 15 minutes per mile (4 mph).

Awards and volunteering

Finishers of the 200K receive a belt buckle; finishers of the 100K and relay options receive a standard medal. All finishers receive a 2025 CT123 t-shirt and additional race swag. Volunteer shifts range from 1.5 to 3 hours and include aid station staffing, course marking, checkpoint management, and start/finish logistics; volunteers receive race swag and food. Trail runs nearby

Make Thanksgiving morning active at the Turkeywacker 5K in Wrentham, a festive trail run at Rice Recreation Complex with donuts, cider and raffle prizes. Awards for top finishers across ages ensure competition and family fun.

Celebrate Thanksgiving on the trails at the F.I.T. Turkey Trot Trail Race in Cumberland, Rhode Island on November 27. Choose from 5K, 5 Mile, combo, multilap or a Kids Race and earn a unique finisher medal.

Run a scenic 16 miles on the Nipmuck Trail in Union Connecticut, out and back to the Boston Hollow turnaround through Yale Myers Forest. Field is capped at 100 and proceeds benefit local trail groups.

Take on a scenic 15.7 mile trail run on the Nipmuck Trail in Mansfield CT, following the Fenton River through woods, fields and small bridge crossings. Organized by the Shenipsit Striders, proceeds support local trail stewardship.
