Course and Distance
The Run Across CT 123 is a point-to-point ultramarathon that travels coast-to-coast across Connecticut, covering approximately 123 miles (200K). The route passes through 25 towns, starting in East Thompson and finishing at the Wakeman Boy's and Girls Club in Southport. Roughly 57 miles of the course are on well-maintained trails, while the rest follows scenic backroads and local highways. The total elevation change is moderate.
Event Format and Options
The event offers several participation formats:
- Solo 200K
- 200K relay for 6-person teams
- 200K relay for 3-person teams
- Solo 100K
Cutoffs and Support
The event has a 36-hour overall time limit. To meet intermediate cutoffs and finish, runners must maintain a minimum pace of approximately 17.5 minutes per mile. Specific cutoffs are enforced at five aid stations along the course and at the finish line. Volunteer-staffed aid stations provide hydration, electrolyte drinks, and light snacks. Medical personnel are available during the event.
Finish Line and Awards
Finishers of the solo 200K distance receive a commemorative belt buckle. Finishers of the 100K and relay options receive a standard medal. All finishers receive a race t-shirt and other swag.
Logistics
Field size is limited and early registration is encouraged. Participants must arrange their own transportation to the start in East Thompson, as there are no shuttle services provided.
