The Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs take place in downtown Ruidoso, New Mexico, at Wingfield Park on August 22, 2026. This is the 12th annual edition. The event supports the All-Season Adaptive Sports program; organizers report more than $60,000 donated to the program over the past eleven years. The Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service have supported the event since 2014. The race area is at about 6,900 feet altitude. Post-race amenities include refreshments and fruits at the finish, complimentary professional race photos, a post-race party with a local brewery offering participant discounts, and showers available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club.

All races start and finish at Wingfield Park. The event uses chip timing. All participants receive a commemorative finisher medal, a custom shirt, and a custom race bib; t-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations by August 13. Awards include carved Ruidoso bear trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and souvenir charms or medals for the top three in age-group categories (age bands from 10-15 up to 75+). The event is a cupless event on course; refill stations are provided at Wingfield Park and there are refill stations on the Half and 8.5-mile courses. No pets, no strollers, and no e-bikes are allowed on the trails. Entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
