Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs

The Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs take place in downtown Ruidoso at Wingfield Park, 300 Center Street, on August 22, 2026. The event is the 12th annual edition and raises funds for the All-Season Adaptive Sports program; over the past eleven years more than $60,000 has been donated. The Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service have supported the event since 2014.

Distances offered include:

• 13.8 miles Heavy Half Marathon
• 8.5 miles 8.5 Miler
• 4 miles 4 Miler
• Kid's Dash one loop around Wingfield Park

Race services and logistics described by the organizer include packet pick-up on the day before the event and race day packet pick-up at Wingfield Park under the pavilion. The event uses chip timing, does not allow refunds, and entries are not transferable. For safety, pets, strollers, and e-bikes are not allowed on the trails.

This is a cupless event for trail distances; refill stations are provided on course for the longer distances and filling stations are available at Wingfield Park. All participants receive a commemorative finisher medal, a custom shirt, a custom bib, and complimentary professional race photos. Additional features noted are carved bear awards for top three overall finishers, age group awards, post-race refreshments, post-race showers at the Ruidoso Athletic Club, and a Trail Running Film Fest held the same day at Downshift Brewing.
