Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs is scheduled for August 22, 2026, at Wingfield Park in downtown Ruidoso, New Mexico (300 Center Street). The event marks the 12th annual running of the Grindstone series and offers multiple trail distances that start and finish at Wingfield Park.

All participants receive a commemorative engraved granite stone coaster finisher's medal, a custom soft-style shirt, a custom race bib, and complimentary professional race photos. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by the announced deadline. Post-race showers are available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club. Downshift Brewing will offer participant discounts and host an after-party with food and beer.
The event is conducted as a cupless race; filling stations are provided at Wingfield Park and at designated refill points on the course for the longer distances, so runners should bring their own hydration containers. Course intersections are marked with directional signs and tape. Awards include carved Ruidoso bear trophies for the top three overall finishers and souvenir charms or medals for top age-group finishers. Proceeds support the All-Season Adaptive Sports program. Since 2014 the event has been supported by the Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service, and has donated over $60,000 to the adaptive program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
