The Capitan Mountain 34 Hour Race takes place April 17-18, 2026 at Capitan Mountain (coordinates 33.513758, -105.511612). The event offers multiple timed race options and runs on a marked loop course.

The course is a soft runnable four mile loop with the aid station and headquarters located at the loop start and finish. The loop will be run clockwise this year. Pacers are permitted during overnight hours. Timing and lap counting are provided by ZEN ARCADE TIMING. This event operates as a no DNF event; times are recorded for distances of 25K and up.

Awards are given by distance: a buckle for 100 mile finishers, a Smokey 80th birthday buckle for 80 mile finishers, medals for other distances, and a special magical buckle for sub 24 hour finishers issued alongside the finisher buckle.

Aid stations are fully stocked with typical ultra food, electrolytes and soda. Hot food is available at night with vegetarian options, plus teas and instant coffee. A food truck provides lite lunch and dinner for registered participants on Friday.

This is a cupless event. Participants must bring a reusable cup for hot and cold drinks. Camping is available first come first serve at Rob Jaggers Campground near the start and finish.
