Cloudcroft Ultra offers multiple trail distances near Cloudcroft, New Mexico, with the start and finish at the Pavilion in Zenith Park. The main event is a 53K that follows the Rim Trail T105 out-and-back with an additional lollipop loop near the summit. The course runs through stands of fir, pine, and quaking aspen, and provides vistas down to the Tularosa Basin from high-elevation single-track and historic rail-bed trail.

Logistics for the 53K include six aid stations stocked with water, sport drink, and packaged snacks. Drop bags are permitted for the 53K at two locations (around mile 13 and mile 20). Crew access is allowed at the aid stations listed as 1/6 and 3/4; one of these is located near Sunspot Highway and the other is accessed via Alamo Peak Road. All distances use chip timing. Packet pickup and pre- and post-race food are provided; non-racers may purchase food. Finishers receive custom shirts and unique finisher medals. The event is organized by Wanderlust Running and is part of the Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series based in the Sacramento Mountains near the Tularosa Basin at about 8,600 feet elevation.
