Cactus to Cloud Sky Race

The event takes place on October 17, 2026 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, with activities based at Oliver Lee State Park and other nearby sites. The local base sits at elevation ~8,676 ft and the courses move from desert terrain near the Tularosa Basin up into fir and spruce forests of the Sacramento Mountains.

This is a point to point ultra trail event offering two main race distances.

Shuttles pick up at the start/finish pavilion to transport runners to each start; shuttle service is included with registration for the Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series. The race is the third event in the inaugural Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series; registering for the full series offers a reduced combined entry fee.

Mountain trail races from the Trestle Recreation Area in Cloudcroft offering a 1 Mile Kid's Dash, a 3 mile route, and an 8 mile course that follows historic rail grade with high elevation views of the Tularosa Basin.

Trail races on the Rim Trail near Cloudcroft, New Mexico, at about 8,600 feet, offering a 53K with a lollipop loop plus 9.5 mile, 4.75 mile and a 1 mile Kid's Dash, with multiple aid stations, drop bags and chip timing.
