Cactus to Cloud Sky Race

Cactus to Cloud Sky Race is scheduled for October 17–18, 2026 near Cloudcroft, New Mexico. The event, organized by Wanderlust Running, offers two trail distances: a Sky Run 50K and a Cloud Run 32K. The 50K lists Oliver Lee State Park (409 Dog Canyon Rd, Alamogordo) as its start location and the 32K lists Sunspot (3001 Visitor Center Rd) as its start location.

The race is presented as a point to point ultra trail event that moves from desert terrain up into high mountain forest. The organizer describes the course as passing through desert ecosystems and higher elevation fir and spruce, with single track and historic rail bed sections and views spanning from the Tularosa Basin to cloud touched ridges. The event is noted as part of the inaugural Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series and is the third event in that series; Cloudcroft is described with an elevation of about 8,676 ft.

Event services include shuttle pickups at the start and finish pavilion to transport runners to the starts. The Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series registration includes shuttle service.
