Rueter-Hess Trail Run

Rueter-Hess is a trail event held in Parker, CO on May 31, 2026. The event features a main 10k and a kids 1 mile course. Race day registration is not available. The 10k uses Dipsea-style staggered starts by age and gender, spread over about 20 minutes; the first runner across the line is the winner.

The course begins with an incline near the start, then continues with rolling hills over terrain that ranges from smooth to moderately technical. Early wooden berms precede the main incline, which consists of consistent steps of varying length and height. The 10k includes a counter-clockwise loop for 2025, an aid station near 1.9 miles, a moderately steep rocky descent toward a reservoir, and a final downhill section that leads to a flat 200 m sprint to the finish.

The kids 1 mile follows the same start as the 10k to the top of the incline, then returns down the steep but smooth finishing path; parents or siblings may accompany children.

Additional event details: 2024 was cancelled due to trail conditions. 2025 swag may include a head/neck gaiter or running socks. Awards are given to the top-10 finishers, fastest female and male, and other categories. Volunteers may assist at registration, the finish, and on course and can participate without entry fee.
