SARR Rocky Horror Trail Run
The Rocky Horror Trail Run is held at Eisenhower Park in San Antonio, Texas. The event features a 3.3 mile looped course on natural surfaces, including the Hillview, Shady Creek, Red Oak, and Live Oak trail systems. Each loop includes approximately 400 feet of elevation gain and consists primarily of rocky terrain with roots, though just under 0.75 miles of each lap takes place on paved paths.
Participants can choose from four in-person distances based on the number of loops completed:
- 53K: 10 loops totaling 33 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 27K: 5 loops totaling 16.5 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 10K: 2 loops totaling 6.6 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain.
- 5K: 1 loop totaling 3.3 miles and 400 feet of elevation gain.
This is a cupless race, meaning runners must carry their own hydration devices or collapsible cups. An aid station providing water and electrolytes is located at mile 2 of the loop, with additional supplies at the start and finish area. Runners in the 53K and 27K categories have access to a specific bag drop and an aid station near the finish line stocked with sweet and salty snacks, gels, and hot food.
The event is chip-timed and limited to 350 participants. Perks include a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal for all distances, while 53K finishers also receive a beanie and a sticker. A post-race celebration at the Harris Mass Pavilion features a live DJ and refreshments. Virtual options are also available for all distances, allowing participants to report times online.
