Heroes and Villains Half Marathon in San Antonio
Presented by Bigfoot Running Company at Southside Lions Park in San Antonio, the event includes multiple race distances and a virtual option. Races are held on local park and greenbelt trails that are mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt sections.
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt. Chip timed races offer overall trophies for top finishers, age group pins, and standard awards for masters and age group places. A live DJ provides announcements and music, and the Race Rally Tent offers snacks and refreshments and finish line photography.
A costume contest for heroes and villains takes place before the races, with prizes that include a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a Bigfoot Prize Pack. Post race activities include awards presentations and a DJ party.
Volunteer options include a Volunteer then Run program that combines an early volunteer shift with a chip timed 5K, and full race volunteer roles for non runners. Volunteers receive a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 digital gift card. Packet pickup is available on race morning for 1.5 hours.
