Event details

Heroes and Villains - San Antonio is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Southside Lions Park, 3900 Pecan Valley Dr, San Antonio, TX 78210. The event is presented by Bigfoot Running Company and includes on-site packet pickup, which opens 1.5 hours before the race. There is a pre-race costume contest with prizes that include a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a themed prize pack. Post-race activities include live results, an awards ceremony, a DJ, and refreshments at a Race Rally Tent.

Course, awards and volunteers

Races use local park and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces - mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt sections. Aid stations are available along the course. All finishers receive a medal and shirt. Standard awards for the 5K, Quarter and Half include a Bigfoot Trophy for 1st overall male and female, a recognition pin for 1st masters (40+), and Gold/Silver/Bronze pins for top three in each age group. Volunteer roles are listed for both running and non-running positions; some volunteer roles include a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 digital gift card.
