Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - San Antonio

The event on August 16, 2026 takes place at O. P. Schnabel Park in San Antonio, Texas. It offers multiple race formats on park and trail surfaces that may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations will be placed along the course to provide water and assistance. A DJ will provide music and awards will be announced on site. Post-race refreshments include Kona Ice, snacks, and other refreshments; finish-line recognition and medals are part of the event.

• Kids Dash - short dash for children 10 and under (about 20 yards)
• 1 Mile
• 5K - 3.11 Miles
• Quarter Marathon - 6.55 Miles
• Half Marathon - 13.1 Miles
• Volunteer then Run 5K - 3.11 Miles
• Virtual Run - 13.1 Miles

Timing and awards: the 5K, Quarter Marathon, Half Marathon, and Volunteer then Run 5K use chip timing. The Kids Dash and the 1 Mile are not chip timed. Awards include 1st overall male and female trophies, masters recognition pins for 40+, and standard age-group pins or awards across categories from 10-and-under through 70+. Participants receive event tee shirts and finisher medals; a shirt guarantee cutoff is 10 days before the event.

Volunteer options and benefits are provided for course monitors, aid stations, finish-line support, lead bike, mascot, and other roles. Full race volunteers may receive a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a prepaid $20 gift card.
