Event details

The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at O. P. Schnabel Park, 9606 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78250. The event is organized by Bigfoot Running Company and is held rain or shine. Snacks and refreshments are available at the race rally tent after finishing. The shirt guarantee cutoff is 10 days before the event.

Distances, course and awards

Distances offered:

• Kids Dash (about a 20 yard dash; for children 10 and under; not timed)
• 1 Mile (not chip timed)
• 5K - 3.11 miles (chip timed)
• Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles (chip timed)
• Half Marathon - 13.1 miles (chip timed)
• Volunteer then Run 5K (3.11 mi) (limited to the first 5 sign ups)
• Virtual Run

The course may use mixed surfaces, including pavement, crushed granite and dirt paths. Aid stations are placed on the course to provide water. Awards include overall trophies for 1st male and female in the 5K, Quarter and Half Marathon, masters recognition pins, and age-group pins across categories from 10 and under through 70+. The Volunteer then Run option includes a custom chip-timed bib, tee and finisher medal.
