River Bluff Trail Runs

River Bluff Trail Runs is a trail running event organized by the Pony Express Trail Runners in St. Joseph, Missouri. The course runs through River Bluff Trail Park and Krug Park, with the start and finish at the McArthur parking lot, 1599 Douglas McArthur Dr.

Distances offered:

• 50k : two 15.5 mile loops, about 4000 ft total gain.
• 25k : one 15.5 mile loop, about 2000 ft gain.
• 10k : shorter option on the same loop.

The route follows smooth dirt trails with some roots, rocky sections, and crushed gravel paths. Runners follow the bluffs next to the Missouri River; some sections are steep. Each loop is clearly marked and a course map and a Strava link will be provided later.

Manned aid stations are located roughly every 4 miles and will supply water and snacks. Runners may leave a monitored drop bag at the start for use during the race. Packet pickup is available early at Tubes bike shop, 1826 Frederick Ave, and on race day at the start area.

All registrations are non-refundable; transfers or deferrals may be considered by the race director. The organizers note that the trails are shared with hikers and cyclists, that participants are responsible for their own safety and hydration, and that leaving the marked course can result in a DNF.
