Resolve2Run : 5K/10K Run-Walk (Resumo)

Resolve2Run is an annual New Year’s Day run and walk based at Chicago Park School with routes through scenic areas of Nevada County. The event offers community running and walking distances and raises funds for local organizations serving the Chicago Park area.

Distances:

  • 5K run or walk on scenic Nevada County roads.
  • 10K run or walk on scenic Nevada County roads.

Proceeds support three local groups. The Peardale-Chicago Park Firefighters’ Association helps the local fire protection district by funding equipment and resources such as battery lighting, rescue ropes, safety cones, a weather station, radio upgrades, and CPR mannequins.

The Chicago Park 4 H Club has been active since 1929 and provides youth projects including animal care, sewing, arts, aeronautics, cycling, survival skills, and cooking. The club conducts community service projects, maintains low program costs, and offers scholarships to members.

The Chicago Park School PTA works to improve students’ education, health, and well being by funding programs such as music and theater, visual arts, extracurricular sports, school assemblies, and science equipment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A community relay on Auburn trails with 100 one mile legs and a separate 100 mile virtual challenge completed over 25 days, both offering tracking options and a finisher item for virtual participants.

Iron X pairs a half marathon in Auburn with extreme ironing at eight town locations. Participants must be self supported, carry their own board and battery iron, and record video proof at each site.

A trail event in Downieville, California with 25K, 50K, and 100K options on mostly singletrack. Courses include multiple aid stations, substantial elevation gain, and specific equipment and pacer rules for the 100K.

A trail run in Auburn on July 26, 2026 featuring 10.5 mile and 5.9 mile routes through single-track canyon trails, canal sections and dirt roads, with a tech shirt, finisher medal and post-race food and beer for those 21 and older.
