Course, logistics and services

The course runs mainly on dirt trails and fire roads with single-track sections and gently rolling hills. Courses are marked with colored surveyor ribbon about every 200 meters; turns have extra ribbon and laminated signs. Blue ribbons indicate wrong-way trails. The 35K is subject to a 6.5 hour time limit; all runners must be off course by the posted cutoff.

Races use professional chip timing with disposable chips attached to the back of each bib. Aid stations provide a range of food and sports hydration products; runners are strongly encouraged to carry at least one 20 oz bottle. This is a cupless event so runners must carry their own reusable cup or bottle; reusable cups are available for purchase at the event. Parking at the Visitor Center carries a $7 fee.
