Red River Ultrafest
Red River Ultrafest takes place in Moorhead, Minnesota on September 18 and 19, 2026. The event offers maximum-distance competition within four time domains for both running and rucking: 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours. Several events specify a 5-mile lap, and a 1.1-mile loop is available during the final hour for those races that list it.
There are two racing categories in each time domain: run or walk, and ruck. Ruck entrants must supply their own pack loaded to 35 pounds. Races are male and female combined. If a runner covers 100 miles or a rucker covers 100 kilometers within the event, they receive a buckle.
The course starts on trails in Gooseberry, proceeds across a bridge into Lindenwood, heads north to Dike East, and returns to Gooseberry, making a lap of about 5 miles. The main aid station will be stocked with snacks and fuel; participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup as cups are limited. A lightly stocked water station will be available at the turnaround.
Registration includes a race T shirt, a finishers award, and finish pizza. Check in and race schedules occur across the two event days. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
