Recovery 5K

The Recovery 5K is the fourth annual community event held on 09/12/2026 at Illahee Preserve Heritage Park in Bremerton, Washington. It is held in observance of National Recovery Month and takes place on the natural trails of Illahee Preserve in East Bremerton.

The event is organized as a fun run, walk, and hike and offers a single distance: 5K. Participants have included local college athletes and first-time 5K walkers. Last year 100 participants took to the trails.

All participants receive event swag, a custom finisher's medallion, and coffee and donuts at the finish. Proceeds from the event support the Salish Recovery Coalition, whose mission is supporting all roads to recovery.

The route and event setting have been described as places where participants exchange stories of recovery, connection, and hope while moving along the trails. The event emphasizes community presence on local trails and direct financial support for recovery-focused work through the Salish Recovery Coalition.
