The Rebecca Mountain races take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Sylacauga, Alabama. Distances offered include:

The 50 Miler and 50K are point-to-point trail races on the Pinhoti Trail across Horn Mountain and Rebecca Mountain. The 50 Miler covers single-track trail, forest service roads, and Sylaward Trails. The 50K follows the same route as the 50 Miler for the first 19 miles before leaving the ridge and finishing on Sylaward Trails at Lake Howard. The course has about 5,171 feet of elevation gain.

Time limits are set for each distance: the 50 Miler has a 16-hour limit and the 50K has a 10-hour limit. Results will be posted on Ultrasignup.com. Awards include top 3 overall male and female, age-category overall winners, and a medal for all finishers.

Logistics and rules

The race start is at Porter’s Gap trailhead (Hwy 77) and the finish is at Lake Howard / Sylaward Trail. Bus transportation is offered from Lake Howard to the start for a fee. Packet pickup is available at Lake Howard before race day and on race morning. Restrooms are available at the start and finish. Aid stations are located along the courses with mile markers listed for each race. No refunds, no race day registration, no transfers, and no deferrals are allowed. Strollers, animals, bicycles, and unentered runners are not allowed on course. Primitive camping is available at Lake Howard for a small donation; bathrooms are available, no showers.
