Course and logistics
The course is built from three 25-mile loops arranged in a connected pattern with aid stations at the loop junctions. Each 25-mile loop is about 75% single track, 5% double-track carriage paths, roughly 4.5 miles of gravel roads, and no paved road sections. Aid stations are located at the Cabin (start/finish) and Heaven Hill; by trail they are about 5 to 7 miles apart, and by road they are about 3 miles apart. The 100-mile race includes 18 full-service aid stops based on the loop structure.
Race rules and support: 100-mile runners may use pacers after 50 miles; 50- and 27-mile runners may not have pacers. Pacers must sign a liability release and check in/out at aid stations. Drop-bag rules apply for 50- and 100-mile runners (size limits and labeling required); Cabin drop bags may be any size. Time limits: the 27- and 50-mile races use a 16-hour cutoff; the 100-mile course has a 32-hour time limit. Awards are given to top three overall male and female finishers and to age-group winners.
