The Pinhoti 100 is a point-to-point 100-mile trail race held in Alabama. The event is a Western States qualifier for 2026 and is listed as the 18th annual running of the Pinhoti 100. The race finishes at the Sylaward Trail Head (Lake Howard) in Sylacauga and starts on the Pinhoti single track at Pine Glen Campground in the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area. The time limit for the 100-mile distance is 31 hours. Online registration closes on October 18, 2025.
Course, aid stations and event logistics
The course includes approximately 83 miles of single track, 17 miles of jeep road and 2 miles of pavement. Runners travel over rocky sections, creek crossings and ridge lines in the Talladega National Forest and pass the highest point in Alabama. Aid stations are placed along the route at specific mile markers; some stations allow crew access, some accept drop bags, and others provide water only. Drop bags are accepted only at packet pickup. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the Sylaward Trail Head; runners receive bibs and crew display cards and meals are provided for registered runners. Bus transportation from Sylacauga to the start is available for a fee. Results will be posted on Ultrasignup and finishers of the 100-mile distance receive a buckle. Completing a series of Pinhoti Trail 50K events qualifies for a series buckle and jacket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
