Pinhoti 100 - Sylacauga, AL
Pinhoti 100 is a point to point trail race held on the Pinhoti Trail and finishing at Lake Howard (Sylaward Trail Head) in Sylacauga, Alabama. The course covers 100 miles composed of approximately 83 miles of single track, 17 miles of jeep road, and 2 miles of pavement, and passes over the highest point in Alabama with rocky sections, creek crossings, and ridge lines through Talladega National Forest.
The event uses aid stations and a mix of crew access and drop-bag locations. Several aid stations are designated for drop bags or for odd/even crew access at specific mile markers; others provide water or general aid. Restrooms and porta-johns are available at multiple points including the start area, aid station locations, and the finish.
Logistics include packet pickup the day before the race at the Sylaward Trail Head, drop-bag drop off only at packet pickup, and paid bus transportation from Sylaward to the start line. Parking on race morning is organized by odd/even vehicle numbers and crews are not allowed to drive down to the start campground. Camping is available at the finish area with a small donation requested.
The race carries a 32-hour time limit for the 100-mile distance. Awards include top overall and age-category prizes and a buckle for all finishers. The 2026 Pinhoti serves as a Western States qualifier for 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
