Event overview

Rayne'ing Medals Anniversary is a Hare & Tortoise Running event on 15 February 2026 at Rayne Station, New Road, Rayne, Braintree CM77 6RX on the Flitch Way. The event uses a lapped format with two marked 5km loops that can be run in either direction; loops are 5.3 km in distance. The event includes a timed 6 hour challenge and set distance options. The organiser holds a UKA affiliation, a Race Permit issued by TRA, and the event is a 100 Club qualifying event. Participants may choose a bespoke medal from a selection of previous event medals.

Course, distances and logistics

The course is a traffic-free, out-and-back route on hard-packed trail along the Flitch Way, described as mostly up or down and sometimes almost flat. Lap structure: complete 2 laps for 10 km, 4 laps for a half marathon, 8 laps for a full marathon; the 6 hour event is limited by elapsed time. An aid station is provided at the end of every lap; runners may leave a bag for personal items and can access flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water and squash. The event operates as a cupless event to reduce plastic waste, so runners must provide their own drinking receptacle. Parking is limited at the Booking Hall with additional parking available on New Road opposite the Flitch Way.
