Rayne'ing Medals Anniversary

Organised by Hare & Tortoise Running, this event takes place on 15 February 2026 at Rayne Station, New Road, Rayne, Braintree CM77 6RX on the Flitch Way. The course uses short lapped loops on a traffic-free, hard-packed trail.

Distances offered:

  • 5km, one 5.3km lap
  • 10km, two laps
  • Half Marathon, four laps
  • Marathon, eight laps
  • 6hr Challenge, continuous laps within six hours

Two 5.3km loop courses are marked in opposite directions. After each lap runners may choose which direction to run next. An aid station stands at the end of every lap; runners may leave a personal bag there. Typical aid items include flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water and squash.

The event is cupless to reduce single-use plastic, so participants must bring a reusable receptacle such as a cup or soft flask. Limited parking is available at the Booking Hall with additional parking on New Road opposite the Flitch Way.

The Flitch Way runs through Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford and follows a former single-track railway line. The event is UKA affiliated, holds a TRA race permit and qualifies for the 100 Club. Finishers receive a bespoke H&T medal and a goody bag, with a selection of past medals available to choose from.
