The Ranger Ultras High Peak HP18km Trail Run is a trail race on Saturday 17 October 2026. The course is 18 km, starting from Whaley Bridge, running out to the upper Goyt Valley and returning to the same area. The route uses fast trails and includes ascents across Peak District terrain, with a total ascent of 488 metres. Entries are limited to 40 participants and the minimum age is 18.
Practical information
Entries open 13 October 2025 and close 9 October 2026. Entry fees listed are £23 (affiliated) and £25 (unaffiliated). The race is organised by Ranger Ultras and Race HQ is at Whaley Bridge Uniting Church, Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK23 7HT. On-course support includes the Ranger Safety Team and a water stop at the race turn with snacks. Participants receive navigation course notes and a GPX file; finishers receive eco-medals and trophies are awarded for first male and first female. Results are verified and published online within one week.
A compulsory kit check is carried out at Race HQ. Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood, warm layers, appropriate trail footwear, a hard-copy navigable map, whistle, an emergency bivvy bag (not a foil blanket), sufficient fluids and food, a first aid kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a UK SIM.
