Rails to Trails 5K - East Hampton

Rails to Trails is a point to point 5K road race held in East Hampton, Connecticut on July 10, 2026. The course begins at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue. The event base is at Center School, 7 Summit Street, East Hampton.

Parking for participants is available around the fairgrounds; there is no parking at the starting line. Buses will transport runners from Center School to the starting area. The last shuttle from Center School departs at 6:35 PM.

Bib pick-up and on-site registration take place in the Center School gym. Scheduled pickup times are Thursday 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Friday 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Registration for the 5K opens March 19, 2026 and closes July 9, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25. Registrations received by June 22 are guaranteed a shirt.

An award ceremony will follow the race on the main stage. Awards include top male and top female overall and male and female awards in the following age groups: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 to 79; and 80 and over. Trail races at Mansfield Hollow State Park with a 15-mile out-and-back on the Nipmuck Trail and a new 5K route; proceeds support Connecticut trail stewardship and the event is organized by Shenipsit Striders.

A morning trail run at Gay City State Park on June 20, 2026, offering 8 mile, 5 mile and 3 mile races. The 8 mile joins regional trail series and includes team competition with prize money.

A 12 hour looped endurance event at Brooksvale Park in Hamden CT. Runners complete 3.1 mile loops with about 300 feet of gain and aid at each loop, with proceeds supporting local trail maintenance.

A five-race Monday evening cross country series at Wickham Park in Manchester CT, the 35th edition features roughly 2.4 to 2.6 mile courses, a discounted full-series entry, and proceeds supporting the Manchester High School Shoe Fund.
