Rails to Trails 5K

The Rails to Trails 5K is a point to point run in East Hampton held as part of Old Home Days. The course begins at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue at 113 Chestnut Hill Road and follows Chestnut Hill to Route 16, crosses Route 16 into Alden's Crossing, then continues onto the Air Line Trail for about two miles. Runners cross Forest Street where a water station is located, exit the trail at the Company One Firehouse on Barton Hill, proceed via Main Street and finish in the Center School driveway at the Old Home Days grounds.

Shuttle buses transport participants from Center School to the starting area. Walkers are welcome on the course.

Pre-registration is available online; participants who pre-register receive a complimentary 2026 T shirt. Entry fee for pre-registration is $25 if completed before 7/10/26. Last-minute registration and bib pickup are available at Center School on Thursday and Friday night, and bib pickup is also offered at the fairgrounds on Thursday night. There is no bib pickup at the starting line.
