Rails-to-Trails 5K - East Hampton

The Rails to Trail 5K is a point-to-point road and trail run held as part of Old Home Days in East Hampton, Connecticut. The course begins at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue at 113 Chestnut Hill Road and finishes at the Old Home Days grounds near Center School.

The route leads down Chestnut Hill to Route 16, crosses Route 16 to Alden's Crossing, then continues onto the Air Line Trail for about two miles through a shaded corridor. The course crosses Forest Street, where a water station is provided, exits at the Company One Firehouse on Barton Hill, proceeds onto Main Street, and finishes in the Center School driveway on the fairgrounds.

Event logistics include shuttle bus transport from Center School to the starting area, evening bib pickup locations at the fairgrounds and at Center School, and provisions for last minute registration at those locations. Participants who pre-register receive a 2026 event T-shirt. The pre-registration entry fee listed for entries submitted before July 10, 2026 is $25. Walkers are welcome on the course.
