Race The Light is a trail running event on Saturday 6 December 2025 at Mothecombe on the River Erme estuary, taking place on privately owned Flete Estate. The event is permitted by the Trail Running Association and held under England Athletics rules. The course will be fully marked and marshalled, with first aid on course and at headquarters. A head torch is mandatory. Dogs are not permitted with runners. Each finisher receives a bespoke Race The Light medal.

Courses and race details

  • 8.5 miles - classic route through Flete Estate with double Erme estuary crossing.
  • Half Marathon - includes a five-mile South West Coast Path section; one estuary crossing.

Minimum ages are listed as: Classic - 17 years; Half Marathon - 18 years. The Half Marathon follows parts of the Classic route but omits two woodland loops and adds the coastal section. The Half Marathon has a 3.25 hour cut-off for the second estuary crossing. The organiser states entries are open for the event and entry fees are published for UKA members and non-members.
