Manchester Pretty Muddy 5k
Manchester Pretty Muddy is a 5 km obstacle event held at Heaton Park, Sheepfoot Lane, Prestwich, Manchester M25 0DL. The course includes muddy obstacles that require climbing, crawling and sliding and is designed for participants to progress at their own pace.
The start, finish and event site are on grass that is predominantly flat. The route combines grass, surfaced paths and woodland trails and features various elevations. The meeting point and start line are in The Bowl area at the bottom of Heaton Hall, near the Boating Lake; the finish is in a similar vicinity. Wave starts are used, with each wave beginning every 15 minutes.
Participants must be 13 years of age or older. There is a minimum fundraising target of £50. Entry prices listed are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and support, access to the event community, and a Race for Life medal on completion.
Travel and access details note event parking at Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane with pay and display charges around £3.50 per hour and an approximate 5 to 10 minute walk to the site. Blue badge parking is available at Lakeside and other venue car parks. The Metrolink tram stop is the closest public transport entrance. Cycling bike racks are at the visitor centre, a 5 to 10 minute walk from the event site.
