Manchester Pretty Muddy 5k at Heaton Park

Race for Life’s Pretty Muddy is a 5k obstacle course held at Heaton Park, Sheepfoot Lane, Prestwich, Manchester. The course combines grass, surfaced paths and woodland trails and includes areas of varying elevation. The start, finish and event site are on predominantly flat grass.

Participants must be 13 years or older. Events run in staggered waves every 15 minutes and marshals are present on course to assist with obstacles. The meeting point and start line are in The Bowl area at the bottom of Heaton Hall, close to the Boating Lake. The finish line is in a similar vicinity.

Travel and parking information describes event parking at Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane; this car park uses a pay and display system with an hourly charge of £3.50 and is about a 5–10 minute walk to the event site on a surfaced path. Drop-offs use the same car park. Blue Badge parking is available at Lakeside and other venue car parks. There are no electric vehicle charging points on site. The nearest public transport access is the Metrolink tram stop outside Heaton Park, and pedestrians can use entrances off Bury Old Road, Middleton Road, Sheepfoot Lane or St Margaret’s Road.

Facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs; dogs are not allowed. Take on the Ossy Moors Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday 15 April 2026. This lively 5 mile fell course with about 300 m of climb weaves Bowland trails and offers on the day entry for a friendly competitive vibe.

Herod Farm Fell Race is a classic mid-week fell run. The course covers 3 miles with 1,100ft of ascent. Race HQ at Jubilee House offers parking, toilets, and post-race refreshments.
