Manchester Pretty Muddy 5k at Heaton Park

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester. The start, finish and event site are on grass which is predominantly flat. The course combines grass, surfaced paths and woodland trails and includes various elevations. Obstacles involve climbing, crawling and sliding through muddy sections; marshals are stationed on the course and participants may skip obstacles if needed.

The meeting point and start line are in The Bowl area at the bottom of Heaton Hall, near the Boating Lake. Parking is available at the Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane; from there it is approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk to the event site. Pedestrian access is possible via the Metrolink entrance off Bury Old Road, Middleton Road, Sheepfoot Lane or St Margaret's Road. A tram stop sits just outside Heaton Park and the nearest bus stop is Victoria Avenue. Bike racks are at the visitor centre, 5 to 10 minutes away.

Participants must be 13 years or older. Event facilities listed as available include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed. Organisers provide a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal for finishers. A minimum fundraising target is specified at £50.00. A charity 5K colour run in Silsden supporting Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, run over three laps with seven paint stations, obstacles and a finishers' medal. The event includes music, food and a bar after the race.

A fell race in Edale on 14 June 2026 covering 7.6 km with 402 m of ascent. Registration is at Edale Village Hall and the entry fee includes access to Edale Country Day; entries close 12 June 2026.

A 9.7 km fell race on 14 June 2026 near Norden, Rochdale, climbing 396 m. Registration is at Norden Bowling Club with both pre-entry and on-the-day entry and team scoring for the first three finishers.

MacTuffX Manchester on 14 June 2026 in Eccles combines ten functional Xercises with 400 m or 800 m runs across Solo, Doubles and Relay formats, with a LITE weight division and a published leaderboard.
