Bristol Pretty Muddy 5k - Race for Life
The Bristol Pretty Muddy event is a Race for Life obstacle course organised by Cancer Research UK. The event uses a mainly grassy route around the outer perimeter of Durdham Downs and Clifton Downs. The course is mixed terrain with an overall ascent of 28 m and both the start and finish are on grass.
The event distance is 5 km. Participants must be aged 13 and over to take part in Pretty Muddy events; there are separate Pretty Muddy Kids events for younger children. Start times are run in staggered waves, with each wave 15 minutes apart, and groups are advised to book the same wave.
The meeting point is the grass area adjacent to Ladies Mile and Stoke Road, in sight of the Water Tower. Facilities on site include refreshments and toilets. The event is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed and bag drop and showers are not available.
Transport notes include that parking on The Downs is not permitted and some surrounding roads will have closures. Nearby Clifton Down Shopping Centre car park is the closest public car park. Participants receive event materials such as a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal on completion.
