Trail Running in Bogue Chitto State Park

The Q50 Races Run to the Hills is a trail running event held at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, Louisiana. The event takes place on a scenic dirt trail that features small hills but is not considered technical. Participants navigate a course designed as a 5-mile loop through the park's natural landscape.

Available distances include:

  • 5 miles
  • 10 miles

The 10-mile event consists of two loops of the course, while the 5-mile event is a single loop. This race follows a strict environmental policy and is a "Bring Your Own Bottle" event. No paper or plastic cups are provided at the start, finish, or on the course. Runners are required to carry their own hydration equipment, such as a water bottle, hydration belt, or hydration pack.

For the 10-mile participants, one water and food station is available at the 5-mile mark to refill containers. There are no water stations on the course for the 5-mile distance. Water and fluids are available at the start and finish lines for all participants.

The event includes an awards ceremony following the races, with prizes for the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers in both distance categories. The park requires a $3.00 per person entry fee, which is separate from the race registration. Dogs, pacers, baby strollers, bicycles, and earphones are prohibited on the course.
