Event Details

The Q50 Run to the Hills is a trail running event held at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, Louisiana. The race offers two distances: a 5 mile loop and a 10 mile course consisting of two laps of the same loop. The course is on a dirt trail described as very scenic and beautiful, with small hills and is not technical.

Important Information

There is a park entrance fee of $3.00 per person, which is separate from race registration fees. The fee is waived for seniors (age 62 and older) and children under 3.

The event operates under a "Bring Your Own Bottle" policy. No paper or plastic cups are provided at water stations or at the start/finish. Runners must bring their own water bottle, hydration belt, or camelback to fill from provided water and Gatorade. There is one water/food station on the course, but only for the 10-mile runners at the end of the first 5-mile loop.

Awards are given for the top three male and female finishers in both the 5-mile and 10-mile distances. Post-race food for participants is provided by the New Orleans Mission. The park also offers other activities like kayaking, tubing, canoeing, and horseback riding.

Participants are advised to bring insect repellent and sunscreen, and to hydrate well due to expected hot weather. Several items are not allowed on the course: dogs, pacers, baby strollers, bicycles, and earphones. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
