Event location and format

The Q50 Races Trails Extravaganza takes place at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, Louisiana. The course is mostly single-track dirt through park terrain with campsites and is run in 10-mile loops. A park entrance fee of $3 per person applies. Lodging is available in Covington and Mandeville, Louisiana. The race uses multiple, separate start groups approved by Louisiana State Parks. The ultra cut off is 14 hours (8:00 pm); cut off times are not negotiable. There are no refunds.

50-mile finishers receive a half Q50 buckle. 30-mile participants receive a walking cane/walking stick. Two food stations serve the 50, 30 and 20 mile courses; there is no station for the 5 mile course. The 10 mile course has a station near mile 2 and again near mile 5. Participants are advised to bring their own food if they have specific nutrition needs. A finisher meal is provided for race participants.

Required equipment and rules

Runners must carry a whistle and a hydration container (camelback, belt or bottle). The event follows a bring-your-own-bottle and minimum-paper policy; water is available at aid stations for refilling. No dogs, pacers, baby strollers, bicycles, earphones or vehicles are allowed on the course. Companions may only assist at the start/finish and in assigned areas. Runners must carry out all trash and may be disqualified for removing flora, fauna, rocks, or failing to follow rules. Race numbers must be visible on the front.
