Pumpkin Slayer 5K is the 5th annual evening 5K run/walk presented by the Bay Area Runners Club in Bay City, MI. The course is an out-and-back on the paved rail trail across from the Coryell Field House at 514 Morton St., part of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail Network. The route uses the Bay-Zil Trail and heads into Frankenlust Township. A free kids run for children 12 and under is held just minutes before the main event. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Bay City.

Registration and awards

On-line registration has an entry fee of $25 and ends on 10/28. Race day registration is available at a fee of $30. An event orange beanie hat is offered during on-line registration for $15; hat ordering has a cutoff on 10/2. All entry fees are non refundable. Packet pickup and race day registration take place at the tent at the Coryell baseball fields.

Awards for the 5K run include 1st place overall male and female, 1st place Masters (40 years and older) male and female, 1st place Grand Masters (60 years and older) male and female, and the top three finishers in each age division. Awards for the 5K walk recognize the top five male and female finishers. Age divisions are 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & above.
