Course and support

The running course uses gravel country roads with a few climbs and sections of tree-covered trail. The landscape includes rolling Cookson Hills, spring-fed creeks, steep slopes, narrow valleys, oak-hickory forest, pine woodland, prairie, and tributaries that feed the Illinois River. The area shows fall foliage in October.

Aid stations are staffed by volunteer crews, many of whom are experienced ultra-runners. The event includes multiple aid stations positioned along the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
