Potawatomi Trail Runs takes place April 9-12, 2026 at McNaughton Park in Pekin, Illinois. The event offers multiple distances:

All participants must sign a waiver. Traditional DNS and DNF timing is used and runners must complete their chosen distance to be a finisher. Early start options are available with restrictions; the 200 mile distance has no early start option. Participants who defer an entry may do so to the following year for a 50% fee if arranged in writing before the race.

Course and logistics

The course is a 10-mile loop made mostly of single-track dirt with some prairie sections, several creek crossings, and rolling hills. Elevation gain is 1500 feet per 10-mile loop. Aid stations are located approximately every 5 miles; there are no drop bags available at the mile 5 aid station. All runners will be chip timed or board timed. Course records must be documented with GPS or similar electronic tracking.

On-site amenities include primitive tent camping (no power or running water), a large tent for runners and gear at the start/finish, porta potties, and power for charging electronics at the main aid station.
